Post house moving tips that will make your unpacking a breeze

When you have just moved home and you have done the process of loading everything into the removal van, and now you are beginning to unload all of the boxes, there are many things to think about. What is the best way to unpack? What is the best method of unloading? How can you keep everything organised to reduce your stress levels? Will you be able to finish the job within the day? Here are some of our top tips to think about.

    • When you unload the lorry at the new home, make sure you put each of the boxes for house moving into the room of the house that it belongs. You will hopefully have written on the outside of each box to say what is in there, so kitchen things will go straight into the kitchen for example. Don’t bother unpacking each of the cardboard packing boxes online at this stage, but just ensure that each box ends up in the correct room as you go, because this will save you a lot of effort, and it will create room for your things as you unload.
    • Once you have moved all of your boxes into the new home and the lorry is now empty, it is best to start with the most important rooms in the house that you are likely to use the most. The kitchen is a great place to start, followed by your bedroom. Slowly work your way throughout the entire house, until all of the unpacking is finished and complete.
    • When you are in the process of unpacking each of the best cardboard boxes for packing, do take the time to consider if those items are really needed in your new home. The last thing you want is to clutter up your new home just as you’ve moved in, because it will look a mess. This is a great time to throw out those unwanted old things that you no longer use.
    • Finally, you will end up with lots of empty online house moving boxes once you have unpacked everything. You can now decide what to do with them. Do not throw them away. Make sure at the very least you take them to a recycling centre, or find a family or friend who may find a use for them. Another option is to use them for storage purposes in your home, to put your unwanted junk in the attic or garage.

Now you will have completed your house move, you can sit down and relax with all of the hard work finished. No more stress, no more worries. You can now enjoy the comfort of your new home.
